winning over your enemy

Track Title: This Is The Last Time

Artist: The National

Album: Trouble Will Find Me

I was thinking that you’d call somebody closer to you

Oh, but your love is such a swamp,
You’re the only thing I want
And I said I wouldn’t cry about it,

This is the last time

THAT WAS HOW I FELT THE ENTIRE TIME. Do you get actual GRADES in your program??? We didn’t get grades, we got “Pass” or “Not Pass” (NOT EVEN “FAIL”) and I was so disenchanted with the entire place and people I was like “fuck this” and did the minimum

we do. we also get vague assignment breakdowns and coursework that seems like busy work and it all detracts from the fact that were there to receive direction in writing a 50 page thesis paper to sort of validate that very same experience. idk i feel like they purposely make it impossible so that you’re forced to strip away your humanity or drown beneath the weight of impossible reading lists and expectations.

Malfoy swaggered forward when his name was called and got his wish at once: the hat had barely touched his head when it screamed, “S L Y T H E R I N!

How have I not seen this on Tumblr yet? It’s the DISNEY PRINCES meets BOY BAND.

A Whole New World in the tune of “What Makes You Beautiful” is the best thing I’ve heard, like, ever.

I love that their outfits are modern, but inspired by the looks from the movies

"I. I was the first person to teach you that love was not always a white light to a ship lost at sea.

II. On my worst days, the sky was a festering wound that wouldn’t heal. I didn’t want to be that to you.

III. On my worst days, you were the only word I could say without clenching my fists.

IV. I really did love you, I just couldn’t claw my way out of the ground to do it properly.

V. None of this was your fault.

VI. I’m sorry I was your lighthouse. I’m sorry you couldn’t see the wall of rocks on my shore."

"A man once asked me … how I managed in my books to write such natural conversation between men when they were by themselves. Was I, by any chance, a member of a large, mixed family with a lot of male friends? I replied that, on the contrary, I was an only child and had practically never seen or spoken to any men of my own age till I was about twenty-five. “Well,” said the man, “I shouldn’t have expected a woman (meaning me) to have been able to make it so convincing.” I replied that I had coped with this difficult problem by making my men talk, as far as possible, like ordinary human beings. This aspect of the matter seemed to surprise the other speaker; he said no more, but took it away to chew it over. One of these days it may quite likely occur to him that women, as well as men, when left to themselves, talk very much like human beings also."
