“Don’t ever do that. Don’t you ever do that again.” There are tears in his eyes along with frustration and fear and…relief. Yes. Cameron can pick up on all of these things through his irregular breathing, the way the muscles strain in his throat, his rapid heartbeat. She doesn’t even need to use probable logic to determine what he’s referring to when he says this. She knows. And yet she doesn’t stop the words that float past her artificial tongue. (doesn’t understand why she needs to hear him say it) “Do what?” “Leave me.”

10 Favorite John/Cameron moments → 2.1 Samson & Delilah

elenitahb:

When John was a child, the legend of the jungle were his fairytales. His favorite was the story of El Viejo del Monte. The Old Man of the Forest. A merciless hunter who killed every animal in his path. El Viejo didn’t eat his prey. He left it behind to rot in the soil. To teach him a lesson, the gods turned him into a simisco; half-animal, half-man. He was condemned to defend the jungle for all eternity. This was El Viejo’s punishment, this was his curse. To forever be vigilant, to forever protect.
